YDS currently rides in a Diono Rainier in our SUVs. He’s comfy there, and I love the seat. The transfer case, for one, is a weak point on all F30s. I wouldn get an AWD 3 series because of it and they did sell plenty of RWD 328d F30s.

People often tend to forget that the shell is 1inch shorter than older models as well. I love it! I agree with PP’s that the Britax seats may not work for some kids ERF, but will for many others. I’m very happy with the seat other than the air sides taking up shoulder space even RF (rear facing) in our smaller car. I would have gone with Boulevard 70 CS if it had the Anna pattern. Anyway,my petite 18 months old has lots of room to grow RF. I love the quality, fabrics, the heights on the Britax seats that the headrest goes above the shell for FF, and the easy install. I agree it isn’t the most spacious for legs, but it is fine for us.

I chime in here because I have extensive experience with both. The M235/240 has a superior powertrain. It smoother, less peaky, and revs more freely. PP (previous poster) are right though, you almost definitely have to move up to a 4 door for the post infant seat stage (which can come anywhere from 6 months to over a year depending on your babies’ height and weight. We just like every month we don’t have to pay for a new car. We tried some of the smallest convertible rear facing seats out and like PP (previous poster) said, it’s impossible to buckle them in there when you’re bending over. On weekends for example he basically just follow me around begging until I get frustrated enough that I tell him if he asks again he won get any screen time for the rest of the weekend. If he in front of a screen, I swear I could walk away for 10 hours and he just sit there playing. My daughter eventually gets bored and will look for something else to do, and she never begs. We just had our second baby this week and have unfortunately discovered that when our Chico keyfit 30 (behind passenger side for our newborn ) and FF Graco headwise (behind driver for 3 year old) are installed (putting any of these seats in the middle is impossible, unfortunately, both installed with latch) an adult passenger cannot fit in the middle of both our 08 Honda Civic and 06 BMW X3. We suspected that this would be the case with the civic, but very surprised with the X3 is of course a bigger car and which we use most often and take on longer trips.

Sorry for the rant, I understand assembly manuals aren the easiest things to come up with from scratch. I didn order this with no expectation of some finicky stuff, tinkering, tuning, and so on that comes part and parcel with a machine you expected to assemble yourself.
